Communication in Global English | Reik

In the seminar “Communication in Global English,” students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the role of English as a global language and how it is used in different parts of the world. They will be introduced to various kinds of “native” English, as well as English as a Lingua Franca, which is used for communication between people who do not share a common first language.

Students will learn how global English has been shaped by historical, cultural, and linguistic factors and how it has become a tool for international communication. Through interactions and discussions, students will train their language awareness and communication skills, as well as their ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
